Like many people I know, I have bounced from one craft hobby to another my entire life. Sometimes the hobby fails miserably and I never pick it back up again, and other times I hold on to it lovingly for years and refuse to let go of any supplies. Over the years I’ve dabbled in glass bead making, jewelry making, photography, knitting & crochet, sewing, embroidery, painting, book binding, leather crafts, gardening, mead making, beer judging and probably a few other things that I can’t remember to mention. My point is, in my heart I am a creator, a maker, and maybe an artist.
I come by it honestly though, my mom is an artist and she has always inspired me. She can draw, paint, sew, knit & crochet, and she can do just about any crafty thing under the sun beautifully and almost effortlessly! I’m a collector of crafty art hobbies just like my mom and proud of it. I don’t know that I’ll ever come close to her artistic abilities but I’m so happy that her love of art rubbed off on me! I have squirreled away art supplies over the years just like she has and it always comes in handy when the mood strikes or an inspiration hits. I remember doing art related activities with my mom when I was a kid and I’m really looking forward to crafting with my little girl someday, too. I can picture all three of us playing with paint together some day.
